This Privacy Policy explains what information the Playlist Sync for Spotify & YouTube browser extension (the “Extension”) accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected. The Extension lets you add the track you are currently listening to on the Spotify Web Player to one of your own YouTube playlists.

1. Information We Access

• YouTube account authorization (OAuth token). When you sign in, Google provides the Extension with an OAuth access token for the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube scope. This token is used to read your playlists and to add videos to a playlist you choose.
• Currently playing track on Spotify. While you are on open.spotify.com, the Extension reads the title and artist of the track shown in the player so it can search for a matching video on YouTube.
• License key (for premium users). If you purchase a premium license, a license key is stored locally and verified to enable premium features.
• Usage counter (free tier). A daily count of how many songs you have synced is maintained to enforce the free-tier daily limit.

2. How We Use the Information

• The YouTube token is used solely to list your playlists and add the selected song to a playlist you choose.
• The Spotify track title and artist are used solely to search YouTube for a matching video.
• The license key is used solely to validate premium access.
• The usage counter is used solely to enforce free-tier limits and reset them daily.

We do not use any of this data for advertising, profiling, or resale.

3. Data Storage

• Locally on your device. The OAuth token, license key, and preferences are stored using the browser’s built-in chrome.storage API on your own computer.
• License & limit backend. To verify license status and the daily sync limit, the Extension communicates with our own server hosted at noisy-sunset-da93.lacatus-daniel1991.workers.dev (Cloudflare Workers). Only the minimum data required for verification (such as the license key and a usage counter) is transmitted. We do not store your YouTube content or Spotify listening history on this server.

4. Third-Party Services

The Extension relies on the following third-party services strictly to provide its functionality:

• Google / YouTube Data API — for authentication and adding videos to your playlists. Use is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
• Spotify Web Player — the Extension reads the currently playing track from the page you already have open.
• Lemon Squeezy — for processing premium license purchases. Use is governed by the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Workers — hosts our license and usage-limit verification endpoint.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data is only transmitted to the services listed above, and only to the extent required for the Extension to function.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Data stored locally (token, license key, preferences) remains on your device until you remove it. You can delete all local data at any time by signing out within the Extension or by removing the Extension from your browser. Revoking the Extension’s access to your Google account can be done at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

7. Security

All communication with external services is performed over HTTPS. The Extension requests only the minimum permissions required for its single purpose and does not execute remotely hosted code.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Extension is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
